SALSA: A brief description

With our salsa class we will be learning the basics. The goal is to progress into dancing "Cuban Salsa" or "Rueda de Casino".

RUEDA DE CASINO is a particular type of round dancing of salsa. It was developed in Havana, Cuba in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Pairs of dancers form a circle. A "Caller" ("lider or "cantante") calls the the moves that are to be performed and many of these involved the swaping of partners throughout the dance and without missing a beat. Although there are many styles of salsa dancing, I prefer the Cuban style just due to the fact that i find it soultry and it is closer to the musicality of Salsa.
